Parenting

Parenting - it never gets easier, you just get used to it.

Amen to that. Who said that? It should have been me, you know why? Because it's damn true and anyone who has a kid older than a couple of hours can find truth in that statement.

You know what my question is? Who's training who? Because the last time I checked, I'm the one abiding by his damn schedule and doing things on his watch. Is he really potty trained? I'm still wiping his ass. It's just that now it's even more inconvenient because he has to slide his butt of the pot and touch his toes so I can get to it. Good grief. Was that TMI? Too bad.

My day consists of making it to nap time. And then after nap time is over it's me trying to make it to bedtime. For what? Am I not enjoying it? No, not particularly. It's hard as hell to take care of these kids on a daily basis with minimal help. (And yes, thank you Aaron for working for our family and financially supporting us all, however, let me just say, the kids fall on my plate and I'm really wishing the servings were much smaller if you get what I'm saying.)

Let me step back and tell you that, yes, I do have great days with these two babes of mine. They are indeed who I spend all of my time with. They make me laugh (and cry), and it's truly wonderful to watch them grow and sprout and blossom. But every once in awhile, like today, I could pretty much lock them in their rooms all day and not even care. Now that's just cruel. Good thing I don't and couldn't...well not all day. Maybe just a couple of hours.

Here's to 6pm, when Daddy gets home! He'll be wishing he was back at work by 6:30pm.
